Matchless G-80 CS Details
This detail shows a rare "Flying M" tranny inspection cover, just forward of the kickstarter. Also note the non-original cast alloy finned rocker cover, with oil feed. Harder to see is the minimum-offset kick start crank. This is a nice item for not gouging the rider's leg, and doesn't have as much mechanical advantage as others, (particularly late model Norton Commando on basically the same transmission) which have enough offset on the crank to cause abnormal wear on the poorly supported layshaft parts inside.
Also visible is the Zener Diode heat sink, just under the front of the seat. That AMAL monobloc carbureter has no air filter. Duuhhh....
