Ron Wood's Norton Tracker
The Ron Wood Nortons were the most succesful flat trackers ever to implement Norton powerplants; a listing of their riders' successes terrorizing Ascot Park would take up a lot more space than we have here! This photo would appear to date from the mid to late '70's: A sharp viewer can let us know. Note the humongous rubber mounted del 'Orto pumper carburetors and fairly radical exhaust plumbing. Noted Los Angeles area Cylinder Head specialist and flow bench wizard C.R. Axtell was largely credited with the power acheived.
The machine shown appears to have a magneto ignition and is, externally at least, a 750 of late sixties to 1970 origin.
Thanks to Sonny MacDonnell for the photo.
